I have long been a fan of Old Mountain Farm JustPlainEd, so, when I was given the opportunity to be his forever home, I was so very honored. He is the sire to our does: Old School Creamery Annie Bies (amazing udder that you have to see!), Old Mountain Farm Love Bug, and Old Mountain Farm Squid Ink. I've seen several of his daughters in other herds who have beautiful, well attached mammary systems and I'm so very excited to see where he takes our herd. He is definitely a buck to build a herd on.
I have to thank Wyl and Cheryle Moore-Smith for their friendship, kindness, generosity, mentoring, as well as their passion for this special breed of goats.

Cheryle says of Ed's dam, "Old Mountain Farm Millet was a beautiful doe who moved to another farm after kidding here. Despite her only once a day milkings here, and a stressful 18 hour truck ride, she stepped off the transport truck, walked into her first three show rings as a six-year-old and easily became a finished champion. The first time in full hair coat only a couple of hours after arriving at her destination."

When Julie Mannix was kind enough to send Old Mountain Farm Anna Jay and her three daughters to me, I had a difficult time picking which doeling to retain and which to move into other homes. Annie reminded me of her granddam, Old Mountain Farm Anna Jarvis, which is how I randomly chose her as my keeper doeling. I can't say how happy I've been with Annie's general conformation as well as her well attached, beautifully shaped mammary system. The best compliment to a buck is their beautiful progeny and Annie was my "gateway" to understanding Ed's value.
I just love the outline of this doe! No doubt, this is where the chocolate smoky color comes in amongst his gold coat.

Both of his grandsires are this very beautiful and influential buck!

Terre Haute Farm Jackson is a long and wide buck who stands on straight legs and has genetics that is some of the best in the Nigerian Dwarf breed!
His sire's full brother SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay +B and two full sisters, SG/GCH Creeping Thyme Farm Thelma 2*M, Old Mountain Farm Jewel 2*M have all earned their ADGA Elite designation!
On his other side of the pedigree is the only homegrown herdsire from my first farm, Moxie Blues Farm Atticus Finch. He was the only buckling that I allowed to remain intact and went on to sire CH Secondwind Banana Fritter.

Bombahook Acres Farm was the farm that I sent my keeper buckling, Atticus Finch, when I had to sell all my goats for the move from Maine to Missouri. The owner of the farm had some really lovely animals from Old Mountain Farm and Twin Creeks Farm and she produced some beautiful offspring. Liz was one of those beautiful does that lived a long and productive life in a non-show herd. I am told that she had a beautiful udder which makes sense considering her pedigree.
Cody's full brother SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay +B and two full sisters, SG/GCH Creeping Thyme Farm Thelma 2*M, Old Mountain Farm Jewel 2*M have all earned their ADGA Elite designation! His 1/2 brother NC Promisedland SS Deviant was the #1 Elite buck in 2017 and his 1/2 sister Creeping Thyme Farm Delores was the AGS National Champion in 2021!
Is there a doe that's made such a huge impact on the Nigerian Dwarf breed as SG NC Promisedland MG Diva 1*M? I really don't think so. This beautiful doe has progeny that fill the ADGA Elite lists year after year.
Being a granddaughter of the infamous AGS MCH Raha Acres Twink's Pixie 1*D 'E and Twin Creeks Brave Hart +S 'E, how could Betty be anything but beautiful?

Beans was my souvenir that I brought home from a trip back to Maine. He is a line breeding on CH Weedy Tavern Farm Lilly LA93 EEEE! I love everything about his dam, grand dam, and pedigree so it wasn't hard to fall in love with this unicorn goat. Yes, he is also moon-spotted, blue-eyed, and polled which is all icing on the cake. The udders, show records, and LA scores that are behind this dude are just the best.

As a 2 year old, Tiny Angels RNB Sassaneq became a finished champion! I was fortunate enough to meet her in person and she was breath taking. Her owner loved her doe CH Weedy Tavern Farm Lilly, but she says that Sassy might actually be nicer. We were fortunate enough to be in the right place and the right time when Sassy kidded with triplet bucklings.
CH Weedy Tavern Farm Lilly is one of only two Nigerian Dwarf goats to ever earn a LA score of 93! Not only was her udder true perfection, but her topline and flat rump was just breathtaking. I think that Beans looks a lot like his famous grand dam and he also has that beautiful topline and rump. In 2019, when I picked Beans up, I was able to meet Lilly in person and she was just as beautiful on the farm as she is in photos.

"Handsome" has a pedigree packed with many of the Old Mountain Farm goats that I've admired for a long time. He has a beautiful general conformation with notable brisket extension and a wide rear leg set. Of course, after 18+ years of loving Nigerian Dwarf goats, this is the year that I've suddenly been drawn to the beauty of buckskin goats. :) I'm looking forward to the bumper crop of buckskin beauties that Handsome will provide us.

This Old Mountain Farm Stag daughter has a gorgeous mammary system. I cannot wait to see what he will add to our breeding program at American Jewell Farm.

Cheryle, of Old Mountain Farm, says of Leeloni, "She has wonderful dairy character and general appearance with very large plumb teats. She is a small, delicate feminine doe despite her dam being over the Nigerian doe height limit. She has good length of body and a sharp tight front end with lovely straight front legs."
Photo courtesy of Old Mountain Farm.
Cheryle, of Old Mountain Farm, says of Gazelle, " Gazelle is the last goat that would leave Old Mountain Farm. She is one of my favorites for so many reasons… Her personality, intelligence, sense of humor and emotional connection with 2Legs. Her strong muzzle, lean neck, strong brisket, flatness of bone, width between the ribs and width of the ribs. Her strong straight front legs, rear leg angulation, strong pasturns, straight feet, width of rump, height to her thurls, strong back, beautifully attached mammary system, large easy expressing teats, her will to milk and ease of milking."

Shy Elk was the 2018 ADGA National Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe and holds an impressive LA score of 92! Her udder is phenomenal in respect to both capacity and structure.

Calico is a stunning moon spotted buck that respresents the exciting breedings that Lynn is putting together at Grasse Acres Farm. I was able to meet Calico's sire at the 2021 AGS National Show when his current owners had literally just driven in from Wisconsin where they picked him up. He was a breathtaking dude who handily took Grand Champion in one of the rings. On the other side of this pedigree are so many beautiful Rosasharn animals from a breeding program that I've admired for 20+ years. I believe that Calico has the style and the mammary systems that I love and would want to add to my herd.

In Sangria's first fresh udder photos, there was a strong medial that I was drooling over and in her second fresh udder (above), the capacity kicked in. She is a beautiful dairy doe that is very representative of the Rosasharn line of goats.

Shiraz is a long dairy doe with a really beautiful udder and LA score of EVEE 91. She reminds me so much of a goat I used to own Rosasharn FX Patchouli....

Too Fancy is a gorgeous doe that was a finished champion in both the AGS and ADGA registries. She has three progeny who are also finished champions and is the epitome of dairy strength.
