DOB: 5/4/19
Born on the day of the Kentucky Derby, this moon-spotted/ gold and white guy's dam was a 7 year old first freshener who delivered quads about one week early. It was a complicated delivery and we are so thankful to have this sole survivor join our humble herd. His dam's first freshening udder was capacious, well attached, and her teats were well placed/ milked like dream. Derby had two doting mothers for the first 8 weeks of his life (2 legged and 4 legged) and has fluorished. Derby has certainly won our hearts and we are excited to continue watching him develop.

Sired out of Lost Valley Legacy *S*B and out of Kyeema Ridge MS Black Shadow. As if the combination of Lost Valley and Rosasharn genetics aren't enough, this little guy's dam is out of Morning Star NR Moonshine- a littermate brother to a beloved goat that used to reside in my former Moxie Blues Farm (Morning Star NR Rosebud). This connection makes Maritime's Legacy feel like a long lost family member.

One just has to look at Black Shadow's udder (not filled in the picture above) to see the capacity, amazing MSL, and plumb/ plump milkable teats. This collapsible udder is a dream to milk and one that I'd love to see in future progeny at American Jewell Farm.
Receiving her Superior Genetics designation, Rosasharn Peppercorn is a gorgeous doe with a beautiful well attached udder. Again, the medial suspensory ligament is noteworthy as are the plumb teats with large orifices. Photo of SG Rosasharn KB Pepper Corn courtesy of Kyeema Ridge Farm.
A heavy linebreeding on Gay-Mor RA Kingwood ++*S, Laura Whitlock of Dawnland Farm writes of Legacy:
"Legacy represents the best of the best of the old time Nigerian lines that were pivotal in developing these little goats into dairy animals. Although it seems like yesterday in my mind's eye, many of Legacy's forebears date back to the 1990's. Legacy was used for 2018 kids--and his two daughters and two sons are stunning. It's obvious that he is a strong general appearance buck with all of his kids showing improvement in width, top lines, legs/feet. Although Legacy is a small and refined buck, probably due to the degree of his line breeding, he adds stature and strength to his offspring." We have one of those daughters (Dawnland America Jewell) along with Mariner Legacy and are thrilled to watch her grow here at American Jewell Farm.
I asked Amy Kowalik to describe Nickita and this is what she shared: "My Nickita girl is powerful, yet dairy, beautifully blended on all areas of the score card with sharp shoulders, long/ level body, beautifully attached mammary system that is very snug but capacious, beautiful medial with great fore and rear udder attachments." Top and bottom, this pedigree is loaded with power house milkers that start with his dam. I bought him solely for his potential to improve milk production in my herd and was so pleased that his conformation was not lacking. He has a beautiful topline, sharp withers, straight legs, and nice brisket extension. Belle was a little shy when he arrived but is very inquisitive and sweet. Between his pedigree, conformation, and sweet personality, Belle is the full package.

Painted Pepper Farm was the first strictly Nigerian Dwarf organic dairy farm in the country and was primarily built off of Old Mountain Farm goats. As such, their focus was entirely on milk production and dairy character. Lemon Meringue is a beautiful example of what Painted Pepper has produced: a deep bodied doe with a soft capacious udder with 2" teats that are a dream to milk.

Named after my grandmother from Holland, this girl caught my eye the minute she came to my farm. This doeling is out of Old Mountain Farm AnnaJay and Old Mountain Farm JustPlainEd. Her rear leg set, angularity, open escutcheon, dairy character, and beautiful head are remarkable. She was one of triplet doelings who were all so nice, I couldn't decide which one to keep. Ultimately, something about her markings and general appearance reminded me of her granddam, Old Mountain Farm Anna Jarvis, and I couldn't unsee it once I made that connection.

In this photo, you can see Ida's general conformation that is so much like her daughter's (Order) and granddaughter's (FX). I'm guessing that beautiful cou clair coloring comes from her Promisedland sire.... and maybe those beautiful mammary systems too.
Summer Bird is another beautiful doe that exudes dairy strength. Of course, more Twincreeks and Promisedland genetics are at play in this exeptional doe's breeding.

C Sheeda is truly "da bomb" as she was aptly named by Wyl and Cheryle. Long and dairy, this girl is really just perfect! Even more, she is incredibly sweet! Sheeda won first place in her class at the 2019 MO State Fair which seems appropriate since she is the daughter of SG Old Mountain Farm Mila Quinn *M VEEE '90. Her great granddam, Rosasharn FS Patchouli, was a doe that I owned when I lived in Maine. Sheeda holds so much potential and I'm so honored to have her in my herd.
In November 2020, Sheeda began scouring and I tried standard dewormers without success. I brought her to the vet and the fecal was negative for parasites but the vet felt that a dose of Corrid might be helpful "in case there was coccidia higher up in the GI tract not showing up on a fecal". I asked if it was safe for a pregnant doe or not and they assured me it was perfectly safe. Well, they dosed her with Corrid and LA-200 and the next morning when I went out to the barn, she had aborted a set of quads that were 3 months gestation. So many times my vets do all the right things but I'm afraid that this was not one of them. I share this info as education to other breeders but also to move Sheeda to my senior doe page. I have not, yet, had the fortune of seeing her kids or her udder potential but I thought she deserved to move off of the Junior Doe page.

Cheryle, of Old Mountain Farm, says of Mila:
“'Mila' is far from being the sweetest personality in our herd but she makes up for it in so many other ways. She is dam to the 2018 ADGA National Reserve Champion Senior Doe. Mila’s sire; Cernunnos is the littermate brother to “+*B Old Mountain Farm Keidan Quinn”. Mila has wonderful width throughout, strong straight feet and strong pasterns, nice rear leg angulation and a nice wide rump. She has exceptionally creamy skin texture; loose and pliable with large plump, plumb teats and very collapsible udder. If she were not such a nervous Nelly on the milk stand she could easily be my favorite to milk."

Nilam Bukit was only three years old when she passed but managed to produce 5 offspring. Her udder was well attached and teats were large and well placed. The photo above is of her first freshening udder! Two of her sons have produced some well known/ productive offspring: Old Mountain Farm Frankincense and Old Mountain Farm Romeo. When she offered me the opportunity to bring MooMoo to Missouri, I was stunned that she was by one of my favorite herdsires, in my favorite goat color, and named MooMoo (perhaps the best goat name ever)!! Her sire, Old Mountain Farm Darius Quinn, is the littermate brother to Old Mountain Farm Cyrus Quinn who was the 2017 ADGA National Reserve Get Of Sire and the 2018 ADGA National Get Of Sire.
As a dry yearling, MooMoo is consistently placing in the top of her class and has been 1st place in her class several times. She made the top cut at the 2021 ADGA Nationals and I just love her dairiness.

Ever since learning of the legendary Promisedland MG Diva and seeing how well her daughters are performing in the showring and milkstand, I've kept my eyes open for a daughter of my own. While not a daughter, this Diva granddaughter came available this year and I did not hesitate to bring her into my herd. Birdie's length of body, long level rump, and breathtaking general conformation make me excited to work with her genetics. Birdie is 22" at the withers.

SG NC Promisedland Diva 4*D was a beautiful dairy goat that was made for milk- there's no other way to put it!
In the Top 6 Nigerian Dwarf Does of All-Time for PTAM (Predicted Transmitting Ability Milk), Diva is #1!
Diva produced several daughters that have also earned SG and Elite status including:
SG Promisedland SS Deviant
SG Sugar Moon Up MIss Devine
SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay
SGCH Old Mountain Farm Jewel
SGCH Creeping Thyme Thelma

Nutmeg was a gorgeous doe who earned her permanent championship status in, both, ADGA and AGS while also earning her AR for milk production. Her dam and sire were out of some of the earliest Nigerian Dwarf foundation lines such as Goodwood, Gay-Mor, Stonewall, Pine Cone Valley, and Brush Creek.
And, while she may have been born 19 1/2 years ago, this doe is proof that some of the early dairy animals could still be very successful competing with many of today's goats.

Nilam Bukit was a gorgeous doeling out of Rosasharn FS Patchouli that died at a young age at another farm. You can see from the picture how her first freshening udder turned out and I have no doubt that she would've continued to turn heads with that mammary system. Quite honestly, it's the mammary system that I would love to have on every goat at my farm.

Terre Haute Farm Jackson is a long and wide buck who stands on straight legs and has genetics that is some of the best in the Nigerian Dwarf breed!
His sire's full brother SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay +B and two full sisters, SG/GCH Creeping Thyme Farm Thelma 2*M, Old Mountain Farm Jewel 2*M have all earned their ADGA Elite designation!
On his other side of the pedigree is the only homegrown herdsire from my first farm, Moxie Blues Farm Atticus Finch. He was the only buckling that I allowed to remain intact and went on to sire CH Secondwind Banana Fritter.

Bombahook Acres Farm was the farm that I sent my keeper buckling, Atticus Finch, when I had to sell all my goats for the move from Maine to Missouri. The owner of the farm had some really lovely animals from Old Mountain Farm and Twin Creeks Farm and she produced some beautiful offspring. Liz was one of those beautiful does that lived a long and productive life in a non-show herd. I am told that she had a beautiful udder which makes sense considering her pedigree.
Cody's full brother SG Old Mountain Farm Elton Jay +B and two full sisters, SG/GCH Creeping Thyme Farm Thelma 2*M, Old Mountain Farm Jewel 2*M have all earned their ADGA Elite designation! His 1/2 brother NC Promisedland SS Deviant was the #1 Elite buck in 2017 and his 1/2 sister Creeping Thyme Farm Delores was the AGS National Champion in 2021!
Is there a doe that's made such a huge impact on the Nigerian Dwarf breed as SG NC Promisedland MG Diva 1*M? I really don't think so. This beautiful doe has progeny that fill the ADGA Elite lists year after year.
Being a granddaughter of the infamous AGS MCH Raha Acres Twink's Pixie 1*D 'E and Twin Creeks Brave Hart +S 'E, how could Betty be anything but beautiful?

"Handsome" has a pedigree packed with many of the Old Mountain Farm goats that I've admired for a long time. He has a beautiful general conformation with notable brisket extension and a wide rear leg set. Of course, after 18+ years of loving Nigerian Dwarf goats, this is the year that I've suddenly been drawn to the beauty of buckskin goats. :) I'm looking forward to the bumper crop of buckskin beauties that Handsome will provide us.

This Old Mountain Farm Stag daughter has a gorgeous mammary system. I cannot wait to see what he will add to our breeding program at American Jewell Farm.

Cheryle, of Old Mountain Farm, says of Leeloni, "She has wonderful dairy character and general appearance with very large plumb teats. She is a small, delicate feminine doe despite her dam being over the Nigerian doe height limit. She has good length of body and a sharp tight front end with lovely straight front legs."

Cheryle, of Old Mountain Farm, says of Gazelle, " Gazelle is the last goat that would leave Old Mountain Farm. She is one of my favorites for so many reasons… Her personality, intelligence, sense of humor and emotional connection with 2Legs. Her strong muzzle, lean neck, strong brisket, flatness of bone, width between the ribs and width of the ribs. Her strong straight front legs, rear leg angulation, strong pasturns, straight feet, width of rump, height to her thurls, strong back, beautifully attached mammary system, large easy expressing teats, her will to milk and ease of milking."

Shy Elk was the 2018 ADGA National Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe and holds an impressive LA score of 92! Her udder is phenomenal in respect to both capacity and structure.
